About Huckleberry Hound

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • Rescue ID: 10-Huck
  • Color: Brindle
  • Housetrained: Yes
Courtesy listing: Huck is an affectionate and loving dog. He adores human companionship. He is high energy outside but just wants to lie down near you inside. He is good with our cats but will chase strange cats. He has been exposed to smaller dogs (we have two) but tends to be a bit of a bully. He is not good with strange dogs. He is great with kids. Huck would be best in a home where he will get lots of exercise, or he may be a hunting companion. He has a great nose, is extremely smart and is very athletic. He is very vocal. Huck came to our home as an abused puppy. It took a great deal of time to gain his trust and confidence as he was starving and beaten. He has never shown any sign of aggression towards a human being even though he was treated so badly. He is very strong and stubborn, however, and needs to be worked with by someone strong enough and patient enough to handle him. If you think this is a good match, please call me, Sarah Wilkerson, 406-212-3509 or e-mail: montanawench@yahoo.com , and we will arrange a meeting. References requested.
